Team Training is Going Well

As you may well know the TW team are planning on tackling The Yorkshire Three Peaks on Saturday 14th September. They will start and finish this circular walk at the Pen-y-ghent Cafe, Horton-in-Ribblesdale, aiming to complete all three peaks in only 12 hours.

This is no easy challenge and we have a great team taking part. Some of the team have let us know why they have decided to take part in this gruelling challenge;

Stuart Caney – Lead Walker

Why you are taking part this year – I enjoy the challenge every year, the team building, the laughs and raising money for a great cause.

Your trainingNot enough! – A short walk with Tom Simpson last weekend.

What are you looking forward to about the walkI am hoping that Alistair Ferris takes another tumble in his new walking boots.

Phil Hinde – 4th  Charity Challenge

Why you are taking part this year – I try and take part in every challenge that TW do as they are always very rewarding and raise money and awareness for the fantastic charities that are chosen each year.

Your training I haven’t done any specific training for the walk, however on a very recent holiday I ended up covering a lot of walking distance doing touristy things in several cities and went on a few steep hikes in national forests in the USA and Canada – some unplanned training that will hopefully prove to be very useful!

What are you looking forward to about the walk – I am looking forward to the picturesque views most – so let’s hope for good weather!

James Yarnall – 2nd Charity Challenge

Why you are taking part this year – I am taking part in this year’s challenge as it is rewarding to raise money for the chosen charity of the year. It is a great way to spread awareness of the local charities as they do amazing things.

Your training – I have decided to challenge myself even further by not doing any specific training for the walk. However I like to take part in sports so hopefully this will be good enough for my fitness!

What are you looking forward to about the walk – I am looking forward to seeing the aesthetic views along the way and challenging myself in another years challenge!

Brook Lucas – 4th Charity Challenge

Why you are taking part this year – I am taking part this year as I really enjoy both the mental and physical challenge of completing these walks and I like to test my limits!

Your training – I have not done any training as I like to keep myself fresh for the challenge.

What are you looking forward to about the walk – I am most looking forward to the scenic views along the way.
