We did it ! – The Yorkshire Three Peaks 2019

This year’s Annual Charity challenge was the Yorkshire Three Peaks.  Our aim was to complete this in 12 hours and we succeeded completing the challenge in 11 Hours 45 Minutes. All of the team completed the challenge, helped by the wonderful weather. There are some sore muscles but fortunately no injuries this year!

Some of team have shared their experiences from the day.

Alistair FerrisWe were very lucky with the weather.

Funniest moment – on the first peak Tommie thought he had lagged far behind everyone and raced to top, he was actually in front and got there first.

Toughest part was the descent from the second peak, it was tricky as they had recently laid new rocks and weren’t worn in.

Tom SimpsonPerfect conditions for a 25 mile walk.

The camaraderie amongst the team was fantastic.

The slog up to Wernside summit took its effect but the tot of whiskey helped ease the pain.

The Friday night /Saturday morning preparations of James Yarnall will be long remembered.

Phil HindeAs expected the walk was very tough.

It was especially hard on my knees which are normally okay. The hardest part was getting up and walking again after the two stops we had (opportunities to quit).

There was a great sense of achievement when all of us completed the challenge.

One of the highlights was Tom Simpson pirouetting and dancing on top of the final peak saying we had completed it before then reminding us all we still had 2 hours to go…

We would like to thank everybody that has supported and sponsored us. The walk has raised just over £2,000 so far for our charity of the year Bodie Hodges Foundation.

There is still time to donate. It would be incredible if you could show some support for the team and make a donation small or large, it’s all for a great cause. Please please visit our donation page  https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Team/TorrWaterfield1

Thanks from all the Team.
